OSRDF – AGM Meeting Of April 17, 2021 – Summary

Membership
With regards to membership, the Canadian Society has paid insurance for 2021. It is not known at this time what future fees might be. The Society must decide about insurance before we can set membership fees.

Convention 2022
Planning continues for the 22nd Annual Convention to be held in Fredericton, New Brunswick from July 20-23, 2022. Registrations are over 222. Some hotels are accepting reservations. See the Convention website for more details.

OSRDF Website Update
The OSRDF website has been redeveloped and updated. It now has a new fresh look, performs better, and contains up-to-date programing.

Trillium Award
A review has been done with regards to the Trillium Award Guidelines and Procedures.  One item to note is the Long Service Award requirement was changed from 25 years to 20 years.  Check the website for a complete review of the documentation.

Wayne & Sharron Hall – T&D Reps
Wayne & Sharron have submitted their resignation from the executive. They have been a source of guidance for many years to the OSRDF and have served on several executive positions. They will be missed.

Future of Dancing
There is still no indication of when it will be safe to resume dancing. Venues will have their requirements and at a minimum regional health guidelines will have to be followed. Clubs will have to decide how they will handle monitoring and acceptance of dancers. OSRDF should consider putting together a set of guidelines for Clubs to use as a starting point. Feedback from Clubs as to what their venues will require would be helpful in forming those guidelines. It looks as though dancing may not be able to commence until January 2022. Thoughts are to get back to dancing with regular members and then recruit.
